From Proposal to Commissioning: What working with a new kind of battery distributor looks like.

So—you’ve been interested in battery storage but don’t know where to start.

Maybe you're responding to rising demand charges, looking to add value to your solar projects, or just exploring what storage can do for your site.

But, how do you choose where to start to buy batteries? which distributor or integrator or supplier to talk to?

At GridVest, we’ve built an experience that’s fast, simple, and transparent—designed specifically for the unique needs of small-to-mid-sized C&I as well as utility scale battery storage projects.

Whether you’re a seasoned EPC or Developer or it’s your first time working with storage, here’s what you can expect when you partner with us:

Step 1: Discuss Project Requirements, Get Recommended Options & Indicative Pricing

We kick things off and review project requirements and recommended options. It will be a quick, no-pressure conversation. We’ll ask about:

  • Your site or customer profile

  • Goals (demand reduction, solar optimization, backup power, etc.)

  • Utility info and project requirements (timelines, location, etc.)

You don’t need to show up with technical specs—we guide the process and help fill in any gaps.

Once we have the basics, we run a financial and technical analysis using your data. Then we send a clear proposal and product recommendations within 1-2 days with:

  • Right-sized system design (kW / kWh)

  • Total project price

  • Available financing options and payment timelines suitable for your project (including 5-10%-down options)

  • Estimated delivery and installation schedule

There’s no vague quoting. We commit to transparency from the start and can provide prices from multiple suppliers to allow you to compare and contrast.

Step 2: Formal Quote and then Purchase Agreement with Flexible Payment Terms

Once you approve the proposal, we lock in pricing and reserve the required battery systems. This step is crucial—especially in a market where tariffs, shipping delays, and supply chain volatility can push timelines or costs. We also have access to better market prices from suppliers.

With GridVest, what we quote is what you pay and we’re clear on all project costs so you’re not surprised.

Step 3: Manufacturing and Quality Assurance Checks

We stay in close contact with suppliers and monitor progress. Once equipment is ready we’re involved, track, and communicate results of Factory Acceptance Testing and Quality Assurance Checks to guarantee that each item is up to standard.

Once ready we sign off on delivery.

Step 4: Logistics Management & Equipment Delivery

We coordinate everything—customs, shipping and delivery logistics. We understand the difficulty of shipping very heavy battery systems hard to have everyone aligned on project deadlines and manage expectations for smoother project management. We can also work directly with your preferred installer or can recommend trusted partners from our network.

You’ll get proactive updates at every stage, so you’re never left wondering where things stand.

Step 5: Installation, Permitting, and Commissioning Support

We assist in the permitting process if necessary helping to advise on fire codes, product documentation and technical reviews. Once equipment is onsite, we support the installation teams to ensure best practices and proper installation. Then we send highly trained commissioning engineers, typically directly from the manufacturer to provide safe and seamless cold and hot commissioning which typically takes a 3-5 days. Included in the commissioning service we:

  • Do safety checks and ensure proper install

  • Test the system

  • Ensure interconnection requirements are met

  • Turn everything on and do full charge and discharge testing.

You now have a fully operational battery system delivering value from Day 1.

Step 6: Post-Installation Service & Maintenance

Our relationship doesn’t end at commissioning. We continue to support any warranty questions you might have with your supplier, operations and maintenance and more. We're in this with you for the long haul and will be there ever after the batteries are delivered and commissioned.

Bottom Line?

We know that C&I and utility-scale storage projects often get stuck in complexity—financing hurdles, confusing proposals, or equipment that doesn’t work well together. GridVest was built to remove those barriers.

If you’re ready for a partner who delivers what they promise—with speed, clarity, and real project results—let’s talk.
